Hmmm, let's see, the vents at the back near the rear hatch are there so you don't pass out when you put the air system on recirculate. The car will naturally pull air through the cabin even if you put the air on recirculate (like most of us do here in the south to maximize the air conditioner!). Not sure about that rubber flap you described, but from what I gather the engine is indeed an interference engine meaning, replace that timing belt often (at least every 60k miles!).

I have owned it about 4 years and have only put 22k miles on it. I like the car, but would like to have work done. Can anyone recommend a very good body shop to repaint and repair rust (upholstery too?)in a 50 mile radius of Chicago? Also, are there any Honda dealers in this area that anyone recommends (or recommends to stay away from)? I also have the, what seems to be common, rain leak. The sunroof rear drain tubes were plugged, but I cleaned them out and I still have leaks. I even have most of the interior out in search of the source. I have seen the rear washer spray nozzle mentioned in the discussion threads. Does anyone have any other recommendations. Water does seem to come from near the overhead light. Does anyone have a rust-free sunroof panel they want to get rid of? Mine is rusting from inside out. The weird thing is the rust is not the typical orange color, but black?! Any ideas why black? Galvanic corrosion? Other oddities I have noticed: there is a weird rubber flap door above the passenger side tail-light accessible only after removing the tail-light lens (it's actually up inside the body panel). What the heck is it for? It's only on the passenger side? And what the heck are those small plastic vents for in between the hatch and rear fender that you can see after opening the rear hatch? One last thing (sorry so long): is this engine an 'interference' engine? Will the valves and pistons come into contact if the timing belt breaks?
