Finally, after more than two months of searching, I found my first CRX.
A Silver 1988 CRX SI. I saw the ad at crx.org. I was hesistant to even
looked at it initially because of the price. But when I looked at it, I
was surprised because the rust and the dings that the owner mentioned
are really, really small.

Here's the problem according to the owner.

        Engine:
        - Erractic idling. Oxygen sensor needs replacement. Didn't
notice it when I was test driving it.
        - Right axle needs replacement. Didn't hear the screeching
sound that he was referring to.

        Body:
        - A small rust spot on the right rear wheel fender.
        - Dent on the hood. Very small. Refer to the above.

        Interior:
        - Both seats has ripped on it. I will be replacing them soon.
Any tips?

Everything seems to be working. I test drove it for a while. My
girlfriend who was with me at the time liked it so much that she
insisted on taking the car right there and then. :)

Bottom line is, I've seen CRX in a much worse condition that this that
sells for far more.

I will be bringing to a honda specialist in my area and have it looked
at just to be sure. I will have the O2 sensor and Axle replaced
initially. Then the rest will come later.

Btw, is there any CRX club in Philadelphia area? I will want to meet
CRX owners in the near future.

I would like to thank all those people who helped me in my search for my
first CRX.

I will be building this car slowly. So any help like, web links, books,
people to talk to, parts, etc., will be a great help. Again, much
appreciation to the people in this list.

Subject: CRX: How much for a CRX SI

Hi,

As I've said earlier, I am looking to buy a 2nd Gen CRX SI. I prefer
90-91 but would settle for 88-89 if I can't really find one. I've
looked at a couple in my area and they are either cheap but really
disappointing (rusty, creaking, beatup) or well kept but a bit pricy. I
have budget of 2-2.5K for this car. Is it possible to find what I am
looking for with the money I have?

Another option that I am looking for now is buy an 88 HF for 1.3K (I can
get this now) and do a B16 swap. How much does a B16 swap cost? I will
have this done professionally.

Please help.

Ronnie
