Hello,
I drive a '91 Honda CRXsi and would like to know where I can find the device that makes that "beep beep beeping" sound when the key is in the ignition and the door is open. My first CRXsi (1987) made that sound for the first while I had it, some how some way it was turned off! But my '89 CRXsi and now my '91 "beep", I find it really annoying!
Can you let me know where and what that device looks like?
Thank-you,
Heather Walsh

I believe what you are looking for is called/referred to as the "Key on" chime/buzzer ~ it makes that binging noise when the key is in the ignition and the driver side door is open.
If that is what you are looking for, I think it's located directly under the key-cylinder. It's held in with a single screw. You'll have to remove the plastic covers/housing from around the key cylinder and steering column to see it (if it's where I believe it is). It should have two wires going to it and instead of just snipping the wire(s), I would snip one of the wires and stick a SPST (Single Pole Single Throw) toggle switch so that you can turn it ON or OFF (your local Radio Shack or other Hobby and Electronics store will have it). Or just snip the wires but take some extra care and either tape the ends or use some shrink tubing.
