before you do that, why don't you pick a day when you don't need to drive 
the rex for a few hours and throw the spare on the car. If it holds air 
pressure with the weight of the car for more than a couple of hours I 
wouldn't have any problem trusting the tire.  After all, if the spare goes 
while you're driving to the tire shop after a flat, all you'd damage would 
be the spare's rim, and you wouldn't be in too much danger of having a 
wreck if it went flat because it has to go on the rear anyway, so it won't 
be a steering tire.
