I joined the list this past weekend, and will soon be the
owner of a 91 CRX HF. I say soon because a buddy loaned me
the money to get the car yesterday. Accordingly, he's not
going to stop reminding me it's "his car" until I get him
paid off. The old phrase "the sooner the better" in this
case is an understatement.

What doesn't help is the car is laid up over at his place
out in the country. We got a good deal on it ($700) because
it had been in a fender bender. Bad enough to keep it off
the road, but not serious enough to effect the drivability
or lead to a reconditioned/salvage title. The car has about
125K on it, but the engine runs very smooth.

We're planning to rebuild the car ourselves over the next
few months once I can pay back the loan and buy the needed
parts. We made a deal with a local salvage yard to pull the
parts we need for a little under $300. There's a few other
parts I'll need (radiator and a right corner light), but
I'm hoping I can find them at other salvage yards in the
area.

I'd been looking for an 90-91 SI, but my budget didn't
agree with my wants in that regard. My current daily driver
- a 81 Honda Civic 1300 - is on it's last legs and won't
pass muster come inspection time next Jan. My experience
with the Civic led me to the decision to seek out a CRX in
the first place (wanted another Honda, but more sporty).
Accordingly (pun not intended), I was getting desperate
when my bud stumbled upon this HF. In time, I'd like to see
if I might eventually be able to build it up to SI
standards, but for now, I'll just be happy to get the poor
little beaten up thing fixed up and on the road.

Well, that's my story, and that's what I'm sticking with
^_^.
