Well, the question has been "where's 1st". Well, actually it doesn't
matter. Both 1 & 4 (both end cylinders) TDC at the same time, per my
dowel-o-meter. I put dowels in each hole, and they both peaked at
exactly the same time.

But for me, it was all for nothing. I noticed on a website that was
sent to me, that there are actual marks on the crank pulley. I missed
that before, and was going totally off #1 TDC. Well, I did what the
web site said, and when I lined up the marks, NONE of my cyl's were
TDC. I lined up the cam gears, double checked every thing over one
more time, and after buttoning it up, it fired right over, and runs
fine. I haven't set the actual fine tune timing yet, I'll wait until
tomorrow, and see how it drives where it's set. I think I will have to
replace my spark plugs, because they got pretty fouled up. I took a
wire brush to them, and really cleaned them up, but I've heard that
sometimes they just never make it back.

Oh well, I'm sure that people have heard enough about this by now.

CASE CLOSED!
Thanks to all that helped!!

Willy
