>why is that fair? It's not fair, but hey that's life. It's just a social thing. Harleys are loud, they've always been loud, so everyone just accepts that as a characteristic of the beast. Heck, plenty of regular people on the street see a loud Harley as a good thing! It's well accepted, even by the cops. Thus, those with loud cruisers seldom get harassed by the cops. I've got two motorcycles, both with very free flowing exhausts and both very loud. I've never had a single problem with the cops. Then again I've also got loud cars and have had loud bass systems. No problems with the cops with those either. Regardless of social acceptance if you use a little common sense (keep it down late at night and in town), then you'll greatly decrease the potential of pissing off a cop. Well at least in Indiana......
