Bobby- Code 21 VTEC solenoid means the CPU is lighting the VTEC +12V line which is a green/yellow strip wire off the VTEC solenoid (the inch-long brown can at the corner of the motor. There's a connector at the base of the solenoid that sends signal back to the ECU to confirm the VTEC solenoid is engaging (pressure sensor). The solenoids can and do go bad, so here's how to test:
Find the green/yellow strip wire coming off the VTEC solenoid, disconnect at the junction, run a piece of wire from the VTEC wire to the positive terminal of your battery and you should hear a definite click sound. If it doesn't click, the solenoid's frozen/bad which would explain both codes 21 & 22. I drove my CRX for the first time today with the B16 in it. I have a PW0 ECU and i am getting a check engine light. The engine light only comes on when VTEC should be engaging. I checked the ECU for codes and cames up with 2, 21, 22. I did a little of researching and correct me if im wrong but the codes are for the secondary o2 sensor, VTEC solenoid, and the VTEC pressure sensor. Any idea's on where to begin looking? Any suggestions are apprieciated. I dont even know where to begin looking. > > Bobby > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > 90 B16 CRX Si > > > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > New DSL Internet Access from SBC & Yahoo!
