What is the offset?
I believe mine, the MR5, is +40mm.
Any problems with the tire rubbing?
None. Except for when I drop the car down to around 4 inches. :^)
Sorry for all this, I'm just trying to pick the right rims for my crx si that won't screw anything up, I was thinking Motegi MR-7 16x7 205 45 16 ??
You will also need to take into consideration the amount of camber and caster you have.
My car is the same colour as yours (electron blue?) but im getting the white mr7's.
One reason I selected the MR5 is the weight. I believe they're around 18 or 19lbs. (at least the 16 inch versions) The others seem to be in the 25 lbs. range. (again, the 16 inch version). And they look pretty darn good on my car. :^)
Anyway, the Honda Electron Blue is a lighter shade than mine. But it's not uncommon for people to think that my car has the Honda Electron Blue. When you see my car and a Civic/Si with the Electron Blue, it's pretty noticeable.
Mine was mixed to match the same shade (or close to it) of Blue that Pepsi uses. Pearl was then added which gave it a nice touch.
So... it started out as one of the Sherwin-Williams Blue's and then other colors/dyes and thinner was added to get the end result. So there is no real paint code as you can see. I do have a limited surplus of this shade of blue since the shoppe mixed it for me.
The paint job on my car was only partially done. We begun the re-painting back in May/June of 2000. It had called for 6 to 8 coats of Blue with 4 to 6 coats of clear. After all the color and wet sanding is said and done, it would be something like 5 or 6 coats of blue with about 4 to 5 coats of clear.
Currently there is about 3 coats of blue and maybe 2 coats of clear. Basically it never got completed... I was trying to get it ready for a CRX meet up near the Monterey area and I just ran out of time... When I arrived at that meet (just under a 1000 mile round trip from my house) the paint was more-or-less wet underneath.
The idea was to finish it up when I returned from that event because I also wanted (and needed) to replace the window rubber's. Not so much because they were rotting/dried out but because I wanted to paint under it as well. It's been about 2 1/2 years now. Eventually I'll finish the painting of the my car (aka: Jiggy). Just a lot of personal things sort of popped up that took a higher priority ~ namely the birth of my daughter (our first child) who is now a year old.
Anyway, the closest I've seen to my shade blue on a production car has been on the 2000/2001 and newer GM's. If you were to add pearl to their color you would almost have a perfect match.
Let me know if you have any further questions and shoot me some pics of your car if you have them.
