I bought my 84 1.5l crx new, more than 18 yrs ago, still drive it every day, all year round. (useless trivia/memory: Back then in Canada, there were import restrictions in effect - you had to practically stand in line to buy one, there was no negotiating on price, and they didn't come with floor mats even back then!) anyway...
I can't even THINK about selling it now, I've had it so long. Other than replacing/fixing some cracked body panels, getting the floor patched, paint & tint, it hasn't changed a bit from stock. But it does have a couple of problems and I could really use your advice: 1. Blows blue smoke for 30 seconds when started in cold weather only (around freezing). REALLY embarrassing when heading out for lunch at work... I don't have a place to work on it myself, any advice on taking it to a garage? (what to say, etc.) I add a quart of oil every 3 months or so, so it's not burning much. 2. Passenger side floor is like a swimming pool sometimes, and it seems to be coming from the firewall, under the dash. Both the body shop and Apple Auto Glass looked at it, neither one could find the problem or do anything to stop it. For now, I've got tar, then plastic, then carpet! To keep the floor from rusting from the inside, and to keep the carpet from getting soaked. ugly... How can I fix this myself? 3. I wish someone had forced me to understand how important it was to get the car oiled every year. The front jackpoints are gone and the floor's rough but patched. Any suggestions on repairing this, if it's possible? Three years ago, I thought I'd run this car into the ground and then get something new & shiny. Something with a/c, airbags, abs, etc. But I can't, not yet anyway. I love that car. So, any advice on fixing these problems would be appreciated. thanks! Lori 1984 1.5l crx (HF?) 155,000 km also - I noticed a thread for suicide and/or lamborghini doors. Maybe someone already suggested this - if not, here's a link to Lambo doorkits for 96-00 civics - www.decah.net
