Hello all,

     Hope you are semi-recovered from the festivities with more to come soon I
suppose. Anyhow, my timing belt broke. Cause: water pump bearing combusted and threw
the belt. Upon removal of fried pump we noticed it grinded away the cavity in which
it sits. Now we are thinking the new pump may not pump water as well. Any thoughts?

     We replaced the belt and the engine would not start. We took the head off and
did not see any evidence of a valve/piston union. So did we just luck out? We are
taking it for a more professional opinion, but I always thought on an interference
engine you are pretty much guaranteed to break something.

     Last question. In the worst case scenario (change engine block) where is a good
place to get a short/long block? I'm going to do some research now on the internet
(local Checkers wanted 1745.99 for long block) to see what options I have. Thanks and
let the partying continue :)
