Yeah, I was looking up all kinds of ZC and hybrid pages. :) So my EW1 auto tranny
would bolt to the ZC? If so, I'd get some funky ratios for sure (and would it be able
to handle 2x power?).

Turns out the head was spared by some extreme luck or higher power. So theoretically
the engine should've started when we changed the belt. But we had the exhaust wide
open so that may have prevented it. A friend suggested if we did have a problem with
the water pump to get an electric inline pump to fix that problem. A mechanic said it
shouldn't be a problem since it didn't get into the water jacket. Putting it back
together today so wish me luck! Thanks for the replies!

If it comes to replacing the engine, at least get a ZC. they are the same
price as the stocker, but with more omph. I got mine from gomotors.com for
like $600 to my door I believe. Ran like a champ.

soon I suppose. Anyhow, my timing belt broke. Cause: water pump bearing
combusted and threw the belt. Upon removal of fried pump we noticed it
grinded away the cavity in which it sits. Now we are thinking the new pump
may not pump water as well. Any thoughts?

head off and did not see any evidence of a valve/piston union. So did we
just luck out? We are taking it for a more professional opinion, but I
always thought on an interference engine you are pretty much guaranteed to
break something.

where is a good place to get a short/long block? I'm going to do some
research now on the internet (local Checkers wanted 1745.99 for long block)
to see what options I have. Thanks and let the partying continue :)
