Well, here is a little update on my rex..  ('90 crx si) I wrote you all for suggestions a few times (Fuelish stink only at full throttle)  I found the problem.  The stink was caused by the exhaust gasket (between the headers and the cat)...  Someone had mentioned that at full tilt the motor might be flexing that joint too much and causing a temporary leak..  That was it!  But why did it smell like fuel??  I recently checked the battery cables and the ground had loosened at the body. I had already replaced the positive cable, and the ground was the stock wire (believe it or not)  SO, I replaced that ground with 4 guage cable, and the tranny ground with 6 guage,  Then looked at the head and valve cover ground (I was having a new ground party, why not), it was stock and in crappy shape, so I replaced that with a Big Fat ground strap and moved the ground point to the motor mount (body side, of course) , if you wish I can post a pic of it.  Well, after replacing all of the main grounds in the engine bay, I started the car.  It spewed Brownish blackish smoke from the tail pipe and did so for a good 30 seconds. (It never did that before)  And smelled like burnt crap.  I took the car out and drove it at higher rpm (5k) for about 10 miles to blow it out and it stopped smelling bad.  and, much to my surprise, the car is a little more peppy and runs a little smoother!!  This may even get rid of the black tail pipe syndrome??  Theory: the grounds were great for lower rpm, but spark was suffering at higher rpm causing incomplete detonation, causing stink, and all of that smoke was junk and deposits burning off.  No more stink at full throttle now! :)  THANK YOU!! Moral:  Replace those old rotten grounds and smile!
