You're the man Aaron... It was the heat shield. I should have told myself, i
just totaly missed that solution.

Now i'll just take a ride in my 1st. generation and look forward to 2006,
were it may be affordable for a danish like me, to buy a 2nd. generation :(

Simon,

My first gen exhaust used to rub against the bumper at about 3.5k rpms.  To
fix it I adjusted the hangers of the muffler.  Also, another common problem
with exhaust is the spot welding on the heat shield over the catalytic
converter coming lose.  You might want to check that out.  The cat is
located just about under the gear shift.  If it is the heat shield, it is
not that important other than the annoyance.
