I have ridden in, and driven, a CRX with 17's before.  I don't need to see
how much worse 18s are.

I will let Lee Grimes educate you on suspensions and suspension tuning.
If you are on a PERFECTLY smooth piece of pavement, then yes, 18s might
help you, but face it -- we live in the real world.  Streets, race tracks,
autocross facilities (parking lots), and anywhere else we use our cars, is
not perfectly flat.  Why don't you just remove your shocks and put welded
bars in place of them???  Because the suspension needs to be able to
TRAVEL up and down.  What do you think sidewall flex is??  It's the first
dampening that takes place before your shock starts to move.

I'm not going to argue this point any longer, as it appears you don't have
the first clue about suspensions and how they work (nor do you want to
learn).
