The MSD controls spark (Multi-Spark-Discharge) and connects in series, sitting between the 12V output of the igniter (ignition module) and the ignition coil.  It fires the plugs using capacitive discharge for 20 deg. of spark.  You can wire it in series with the stock Honda coil, but for a mere $35 step up to a MSD Blaster SS coil (45,000 volts!), but you'll need the modified cap.  Be sure to upgrade your spark plug wires to at least 8mm (MSD makes 8.5mm ones) and widen the gap on the spark plugs to 0.050-0.055 inches.  NGK "V-Power" plugs work great with MSD by the way!

Uhmm, if I'm not mistaken, I thought the ignitor *was* the ignition module?
I think the MSD replaces the coil..

If your Igniter is bad, you will need to replace it.  All the MSD does is by-pass (replace) the stock Ignition Module inside the dizzy.

This may be a stupid question, but I need a new ignitor, and I also have
a MSD igniton that I have yet to install. With the MSD, do I need to buy
a new ignitor? Or does the MSD replace it?
