Softer, have you tried soaking it in
Palmolive?
Seriously now -- if you're referring to the force that
it takes to push the clutch in, then I would investigate replacing the clutch
cable, then looking at the springs involved.
I'm
considering replacing the cable when I change out the clutch on my DX here in a
few months.
