I've put together a collection of documents related to the recent prosecution and conviction of Carl Johnson, a sometimes itinerant country musician and author, on charges related to a series of e-mail messages he allegedly sent to the cypherpunks mailing list. I'd planned to keep them under wraps until after the sentencing, because I was concerned that extra publicity might make the prosecutors or investigators angry, and I didn't think that particular hornet's nest needed any more disturbing. It's not like they've historically shown themselves to be inclined towards restraint or a mature sense of perspective. Unfortunately, I accidentally published a new version of my web page which included a pointer to the documents; I can see from my webserver logs that they've attracted interest from people behind one of the treas.gov web proxies (they spent a few hours poring over the documents related to Jim Bell and CJ), so I guess that's cat's out of the bag, for better or for worse. So .. go take a look at <http://www.parrhesia.com/cj/> if you'd like to see what sort of evidence federal law enforcement is producing these days, and what they're doing with your tax dollars. -- Greg Broiles [EMAIL PROTECTED]
