Verification of peer certificates in PerlSSL

Does anybody know if there are Perl modules for OpenSSL (or SSLeay) allowing
the verification of the peer's certificate against a locally-stored set of
CA certificates? I'm interested especially in client modules verifying
server certs, as the usual browsers do. I had a look at Crypt::SSLeay and
Net::SSLeay, but neither one seem to cut it.
