Subject: Fairplay!
To my web site I've just added "Fairplay,"
a Playfair cracker, by Gunnar Andersson,
who writes:"This archive contains a
pedestrian implementation of shotgun
hill-climbing applied to the Playfair
cipher."
The Zip file includes ANSI C source code,
an executable that runs under Windows, and
The Codebook's Stage 6 Playfair
cipher.
The Windows executable requires the
Cygwin1.dll, which because of it's size,
I have not included.
I have, however, added cipher.txt,
a Playfair cipher by Jim Gillogly, which
was part of the NOVA Online "Crack the
Ciphers" contest.
I've also updated the links to David
Hamer's Enigma papers.
All of this is on the "Historical" page.
