Funny, this is actually a CD-ROM-able version of what we've already
implemented as an Application Service Provider-style web application.

If you're curious: click the link to open our viewer, then zoom into the
dolphin brain image about nine times... try panning too.  The image
represents about 77GB of uncompressed image data.  It uses a small Java
applet, should work pretty well on Linux, Windows, and sometimes even
Mac OS X.

The sheer size of the images gives us pretty good crack / copy
protection.  Downloading the compressed image on a T1 would take over
six hours.
