link error for crypto51

The debug version links fine. But when I restore two commented lines in 
the Makefile to build release version, a lots of link errors pop up. My 
current system is Linux 2.4.20 with gcc 3.2.2. I didn't have any problem 
when I did the same thing on Linux 2.4.18 with gcc 2.96. Any suggestion 
is appreciated.
