There are several APIs for that (mentioned by others). These are
intended for OS users though.

There is NO way to hide something against willing person.
Also all snake oils "against disassembler" are buying just 
a few minutes/days. At most weeks.

Against casual user with hexeditor simple solutions are enough.
Any scheme that don't use trusted hardware (aka crypto card/TPI) 
is doomed in face of mid skilled hacker.
