There are no plans for this yet. The companies that paid the FIPS validation
lab testing fees before (Groove Networks, later Microsoft, which had bought
it) have not contacted me about wanting to get 5.6 validated.
My understanding is that the testing fee is in the low tens of thousands of
dollars range. If you're interested in getting 5.6 validated, the next step
is probably to contact some labs and getting better estimates. Here's a
