Move the discussion to sci.crypt. There's a lot going on in the
original question, and I would not trust all answers from stack
overflow. For example, the statement on "IV's need to be unique" is
probably wrong (or at least lacking). SSL2 use to use unique IVs (the
last block of the previous message), but was changed to random from a
pseudo random number generator in TLS1.
