I'm doing some testing with the llvm compiler (http://llvm.org) on x86, and the 
Panama tests are also failing for me (fails at -O2, passes at -O0)

If I had to bet, I would guess that my problem is with llvm, but I'm mentioning 
it here as an extra data point.
