Problem solved.

Thanks Jeff, the line of inquiry that I had to take to research your tips
brought me to understand great things about CryptoPP. What an awesome
project.

I sat and starred at the code and in one blissful moment I realized I had
not called "PutMessageEnd."

Now Decryption and Authentication...
