Hi Everyone, Zooko and I are testing tweaks to the website. They are minor, but we would like feedback.
First, we added a separate page for the 5.6.3, 5.6.2, 5.6.1, and 5.6.0 releases. The "release page" rolls up all information on the particular release. See, for example http://www.cryptopp.com/release563.html and http://www.cryptopp.com/release562.html. (The others need to be cut-in). Second, the bulleted item on the home page where the release was announced has been linked to the release page. See, for example, "11/20/2015 - Version 5.6.3 released <http://www.cryptopp.com/release563.html>" on http://www.cryptopp.com/. The home page also provides the original information. Now, what we would like to do is.... for the past release (i.e., prior to 5.6.0), remove the text for that release, and just leave the bulleted item with the date and the link to the release page. We also want to move all the past downloads to a separate downloads.html page with the information that's currently provided on the home page. The 5.6.x downloads will still be available on the home page, we're just moving past/old items to a separate page. We hope that the changes will move about half the old content elsewhere in an easy to parse format for those who seek it. Does anyone have thoughts or objections? Is anyone opposed to moving the information on the old gear (5.5.x and prior) to separate release and download pages?
