Hi Prakhar,

Is there any developer's mailing list or irc channel of crypto++.

We wanted to participate in GSoC, but it does not look like we will be able
to.

I don't believe we will be able to meet program requirements, like Mentors
and Administrators. We also heard some mild opposition to participation on
some side channels. I think the concerns that stimulated the opposition had
to do with quality control, so I was not too worried about it. We have
things in place to deal with lower quality code, like using the Patch Page
(http://cryptopp.com/wiki/Category:Patch) as an incubator until code
matures.

We also reached out to our friends at Bouncy Castle about a joint Bouncy
Castle/Crypto++ organization. There was interest at BC, but there was not
enough support among their ranks.

I started working on the student project page at Ideas List
(http://cryptopp.com/w/index.php?title=Ideas_List). The Ideas List is just
a smaller version of the Roadmap (http://cryptopp.com/wiki/Roadmap)
tailored for students and interns. The Ideas List would include some less
demanding tasks that are usually just handled by us. I have not uploaded
the list yet.

If you are really interested (and no one else snatches up your services),
then we can work together on it over the summer. I'll use it as a dry run
for GSoC 2017. We will do everything I planned for this year, including
identifying capabilities, selecting tasks, semi-weekly calls to identify
obstacles and chart progress.

Jeff
