Hi,
This is a "Crystalspace user" point of view : *import features should be
a core part of the engine* and a top priority concern for crystalspace
team. (For the moment, b2cs project works with obsolete versions of
Blender and Python, has no release version for cs 1.4 (only svn
version), has incomplete documentation, and lacks decent testing.)

I know it's a lot of work, but if no one does it, 3D content will become
more and more difficult to import, and no one will choose Crystalspace
again. It's an inevitable part of any 3D engine project. I don't know
what's new in cs 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8 and 1.9, but *cs 1.4 doesn't lack
many things* except easier import features and deeper documentation.

If (religiously) possible, I think that serious projects like Yo Frankie
and Planeshift would *prefer 3dsmax or Maya import* features, because
professional/student 3D artists often refuse to work with Blender (yes,
they're doomed to hell, but we need them).

End of this little "Crystalspace user point of view" :) - thanks for
your attention!
