Er...not sure if science and fame belong in the same sentence....

Could be one of two things -- I was made a Companion of the Royal Society
of New Zealand for services to the promotion of science and technology.
The RSNZ has nothing to do with blue blood, but more to do with PUS
(public understanding of science -- they really do need to think about
those initials!); Gil Simpson has been RSNZ president and is being
succeeded by Jim Watson (biotech innovator), so it's good to see more
technology cross-overs.

And I'm being hung at the National Portrait Gallery in Wellington next
month as part of an exhibition on science writers/journalists (knew I
should have had Nigel touch up that mugshot a bit more... :-).

That's my secret other life as a science groupie, when I'm not exhorting
people to sign up for CSI Elevator Cafes, extend their CSI Directory
listings and fiddling with the CSI Website in amongst the real work of our
company's software and Web development!
