Hi there,

Just a quick note to say that Prue Purser, Head of the Christchurch
College of Computing, will be at today's CSI Elevator Cafe to give us a
quick run-down on what they are doing to get more women into IT careers
and the challenges involved.

So, ladies, make your way through the fog to the Cii (200 Armagh St, 5pm)
and show her that IT is not necessarily a man's world! (OK, you guys are
welcome too -- after all, I *think* the CSI executive team has a gender
split of about 50:50, which is probably a first for a generic IT
management group... :-)

And there are other good speakers too:

Erron Henderson - talking about EOS Interactives

Simon Moore - an immigration specialist talking about how the new
immigration laws affect organisations in our sector especially with
recruitment

Grant Franklin - relating success stories of the Real Contacts system
(it's not *what * you know, you know...)

To be followed by the BBQ, so BYO if you're staying on to network, unwind
and catch up with things social and techie while you wait for the fog to
lift.

Cheers,
Vicki Hyde
one of the notoriously noisy women keeping the CSI chaps in line :-)
