PRESENTER INFORMATION

Patrick Rottiers

At university, following research on several American and European
universities, Patrick graduated with a masters degree in philology and
psycholinguistics, on a thesis in the novel field of 'film psychology',
communication / psychology and technology to remain a passion throughout
his life.

After leading international multimedia broadcast projects in Europe,
Patrick moved into marketing-communication and advertising, pioneering
the first DTP-apps in advertising. He worked with Aldus, Apple and
Compugraphic to realise the first electronic links between DTP-networks
and RIP's at the printers (bypassing manual data entry in 5 languages at
the printers).

Patrick was than headhunted for the position of 'International Marketing
and Communications Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa' for the
Chicago-based OMC, where Patrick specialised in psychological market
research and profiling, a then new approach to understanding the
complexity of consumers, still a major chapter in his marketing seminars
today.

Next, recruiters for the BA-KLM-Sabena airline alliance (in the making)
convinced Patrick to dedicate his multi-lingual, multi-cultural
management skills to one of the most challenging industries and for 8
years he was an airline executive, living and working in Western Europe
and Africa. His last project with the airlines, a pilot project, was the
regional merge of all Swissair/Sabena management and operations.

Following lengthy negotiations, head hunters convinced Patrick to return
to Europe as 'Commercial Director' for the Belgian branch of the 4th
largest recruitment company in the world, overseeing 22 billion NZ$
turnover and an average growth of 20-25%. As member of the board and
commercial director, Patrick worked closely with the largest European
accounts and national and local government.

In 1999, Patrick decided to settle in New Zealand after having visited
several times over a period of 16 years and created his consultancy
business PROConsulting Ltd., to assist companies, many in the Hi-Tech
sector, to grow world-class and consistently develop and maintain export
markets.

Videoconferencing allows Patrick to efficiently work with several IT
companies in New Zealand, Europe and the US, while his own IT-research
tends to specialise in wireless technologies (Bluetooth/WiFi, RF) and
digital audio/music and video/photography.

Patrick dislikes 'infotainment' and his seminars in international
marketing, product development, project management, business
presentation skills, etc. are densely packed with both kiwi and
international case studies to complement the latest insights on the
subject, validated by and for both smaller companies and larger
corporate organisations.

WHY STOP THERE?

Patrick will be available for one-to one follow-up coaching (fully
funded by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise). Take advantage of this
opportunity by making an appointment time with Patrick at the workshop.
