You are invited to a meeting with expat Neil Scott, the founder of the Archimedes Projects at Stanford University and the University of Hawaii.  The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the set up an Archimedes Project in New Zealand and how links can be formed with the other Archimedes Projects.

This meeting will be of particular interest to:

- Anyone interested in commercial projects and export opportunities for disabilities and ageing markets.
- Anyone with an interest in creating smart environments for living, learning and leisure. 
- New Zealand companies and educators involved in the creation of hardware, software tools and content for the delivery of educational and learning materials for school and vocational situations.

The Archimedes Project is a multidisciplinary group of faculty, researchers, students, IT engineers, and international visitors who work to improve interaction with computers and information and control of their environment for people with disabilities, the elderly, people with limited literacy, and people who use computers and information appliances.

Believing that information technology holds enormous promise for improving human lives, The Archimedes Project is dedicated to helping realize that promise through original and collaborative research, education, and studies and projects for companies, organizations, and nations.

Neil founded the Archimedes Project at Stanford University in 1990. The Archimedes Project has Alliances with organizations in Japan, the UK and Ireland.

Neil has been described as "one of the five top innovators in the United States" and "one of the futurists who will shape the way people live, think, work and play in the new millennium". Last year, out of thousands of nominations worldwide, he was named as a Tech Laureate by California's Tech Museum of Innovation. Neil has been involved with many elite technology think-tanks at which today's thought leaders engage in highly interactive discussion with the senior technology strategists of large public and private organisations. He has also been a member of several White House committees on access issues and has talked to parliaments around the world. Neil gained his B.E at Canterbury University.
