Hi folks, There's a very interesting feature in the current edition of SoftwareCEO about a three- person company selling a downloadable software product which got mentioned by Walt Mossberg in the Wall St Journal and what happened next....
http://www.softwareceo.com/index.php It's the sort of serendipitous event which most of us dream of, which some of us have experienced, and which can be overwhelming. And it doesn't just happen to US folk, either -- we had a similar event with a mention of TurboNote+ on TechTV and I know of others who've had a phonecall out of the blue from tech media gurus which led to Good Things. The SoftwareCEO story also has an extensive follow-up from marketing and advertising folk about how to take advantage of something like this. Even better, how to prepare for it -- the more workshops and seminars I attend, the more the phrase "managed serendipity" seems to describe what happens in our business and what helps differentiate those who succeed from those who don't. Even if this is not your particular area of interest, I'd strongly recommend the SoftwareCEO ezine as just about always having something worth checking out (it's certainly one of the few which I make a point of reading).
