My name is Kevin Sandom. I'm studying at Christchurch Polytechnic, Institute of Technology (CPIT) and am due to finish my Bachelor of Information and Communication Technologies (BICT) half way through this year (2004). All I have left to complete is my industry project, which is the topic of this email.
I'm looking for a project to do as my industry project. It needs to be about 350 hours in length and in the business computing context. More specifically, I'm looking for a programming project (although I will consider similar/related fields such as robotics, etc). I am very strong in Visual Basic and PHP (and many of their related technologies), although I have recently been learning C++, which I am very interested in. I'm confident in using both the console and the graphical interfaces of Linux and Windows, as well as a few forgotten OSes... ;-) The project needs to involve me doing some project management and needs to have a business computing professional available to act as a mentor. I would appreciate any consideration that you give me, and I look forward to hearing from you.
