NZCS Canterbury branch presents:

An Introduction to .NET - a technical session
Peter Jones, University of Canterbury

Peter will describe the main .NET components and give a quick development demonstration.  This will be followed by a discussion of what is coming (including Whidbey, Longhorn, Avalon, Indigo, Yukon) plus a quick look at the Visual Studio .NET 2005. Finally, pointers will given to a variery of .NET resources (such as user groups, web and Microsoft resources).

Speaker:

Peter is currently employed by the University of Canterbury as an Analyst/Programmer for their IT department.  He has been using the .Net Framework and Visual Studio .Net since the first beta version.  Peter also acts as co-ordinator for the Christchurch .Net User Group, is a member of the INeta Asia/Pacific Committee (International .Net Association), is a Microsoft MVP for .Net (Most Valuable Professional) and occassional presenter for MSDN sessions.  Sometimes, Peter even finds time for some real work!
