Canterbury Development Corporation Limited (CDC) is the economic development and employment services arm of the Christchurch City Council. A 12 month fixed term position has become available as Sector Leader for the Software Industry in Christchurch. This role involves develop business networks, identifying opportunities for companies to work together, and developing projects that help to grow and address constraints faced by the software sector in the region. If you are an intelligent, highly motivated entrepreneurial individual with a sense of humour, excellent people skills and an ability to recognise opportunities and facilitate relationships, then you are the type of person we are looking for. The role has a lot of autonomy but reports to a Sector Manager within CDC. There is an administrative component requiring the successful person to be competent with computers. Experience within the software sector or other relevant experience is essential, as is being professionally presented, diligent and a team player. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of Christchurch companies, to work within a highly motivated and professional team and to contribute to the development of an innovative and thriving economy.
