Hi

There can be several reasons which cause the Xserver on a Linux doesn't
work:
1. It can be that there is no problem with your Xserver. In this case,
please check whether in your /etc/inittab the default init is 5. If it is
not 5, check whether your Xserver is ok or not by typing startx from the
console.

2. If you can't start the Xserver by typing startx from console, check
whether there is configuration problem in your Xfree.

3. If there is no problem with your configuration but you still can't start
the Xserver, then it could be that your Xserver is corrupted. In this case
you might need to re-install the Xserver.

I Hope those clues can help you.
Cheers,

Winarto

Subject: [csforum] Linux help urgently required

Hi,

does somebody has or knows of somebody how can on short notice give us a
hand with restoring the Xserver on our Linux box? All services are
running fine after a reboot ... apart from the windowing interface.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Jens
