South Staffordshire NHS Trust in the United Kingdom is trialing the software with five staff teams who regularly make complex decisions in areas such as learning disabilities, mental health and treatment of prisoners. Intellworks offers a fixed-cost sales strategy program that leverages 'live cold calling' to help IT vendors, resellers and consultants better identify and research their prospects and significantly boost the selling opportunity during the initial canvassing and appointment-setting phase. BEA claims its application infrastructure is the industry's only truly converged platform. [more here http://canterburysoftware.org.nz/current.htm#newsbyte3 ] August 13, 2004: The Commerce Commission is advising businesses that the Unbundled Bitstream Service (UBS) currently being offered commercially by Telecom New Zealand differs significantly from the regulated bitstream service recommended by the Commission in its unbundling report to the Minister of Communications and due to come into force shortly. The Commission says it has become aware that Telecom's service has more limited characteristics than the bitstream service recommended by the Commission. "I would be concerned if telecommunications industry participants signed up to the current Telecom commercial offer under the impression that it was a proxy for the regulated service." said Telecommunications Commissioner Douglas Webb. The company is promising 24-hour delivery, saying new customers who sign up using a credit card will have their Woosh connection kit and modem in their hands within 24 hours. If the company fails to meet this deadline then the new client will get the modem free of charge. Hitwise says New Zealand internet users flocked to find out the latest news or to trade stock on August 3, just as the stock market in the US was experiencing turbulence and loss in altitude. Many New Zealand based websites reaped the benefits of this market uncertainty, rising considerably in the ranking statistics on this day.
