Tuesday, 25 January 2005 Mobile penetration tops 100% Post-Christmas figures have revealed that the total number of mobile phones in circulation in the UK is now greater than the country's population, with many users choosing to own more than one handset. Other European countries to have exceeded 100% cellular penetration include Italy, Sweden and Portugal.
