Hi, I recently sent out a request for a contract software engineer for Precision Tracking and had very few responses. I have spoken with Jeff Tait and he was wanting to know if anyone was interested in coming onboard on an initial contract basis with the opportunity for full time employment with them. We currently have three existing Visual C++ applications that we have developed and are needing extended. Application 1 runs on all our customer's PC's and is used to download various devices including PDA's and flash cards. This data is then transferred back to our FTP site. We need to extend this application to support additional functionality plus build in Bluetooth and Wifi capabilities. There is probably about 1-2 weeks work on this application. Application 2 runs in-house and is used to process large volumes of GPS data for the purposes of vehicle tracking. This application determines exactly how many off road miles are done by each vehicle and generates a rebate for each vehicle for the Road User Charges they have clocked up off-road. There is about 1 weeks work automating this application. Application 3 also runs in-house and has the greatest amount of work needed. We are estimating at least 1-2 months. The work required is to build an automated system to manipulate GPS data and produce various reports and maps with data overlaid. We are wanting someone to start ASAP and hope to be finished the work in July/August. We would prefer the engineer to be an independent contractor so they can be thrown into the group of companies/contractors that we are getting grant funding for. Alternatively if there was an excellent engineer that may want a permanent role with us we would be open to talking about this. We have some exciting projects on the horizon related to wireless technology and GPS that we will need a full time engineer for but in the short term a contractor will better suit our needs because of the funding benefits we get.
