Hmm. For IIS servers, there's a product called StreamCatcher which, among other things, permits short-form URLs to be used and automatically mapped according to defined rules. Simple example: http://turbonote.com/spis/runisa.dll?SV:TBNPERSONAL ...is also fine as: http://turbonote.com/TBNPERSONAL It can also remap static URLs to dynamic pages and vice versa, or re- route traffic between sites (e.g. an old domain name/page to a new one). There are probably other products and facilities which can do it; we like StreamCatcher because it can also deal with robot issues, and denial-of-service attacks, among many other things.
