Valve reps post updates and optional updates on the mailing lists, and anyone
seeing your website
through the mailing list already has a way of recieving update information,
correct?
And you're asking people not to consider this an advertisement, but is that not
exactly what this is? I mean,
the majority of advertisement/spam email I get describes their websites in a
general "About Us" paragraph, which you have,
some persuasion, which you have, (By this way, your servers will always be
updated and serve a smooth gaming experience for your community.)
you're also including a signature linking to your twitter. It's pretty much the
exact definition of advertising.
I'm truly not trying to bash the idea, I think you're sincerely trying to help
server owners, I just think you may
have wasted your time, perhaps like Misiu is saying it would be better to
release the source of getting the update
information.
