mp_backup_round_file_pattern sets the pattern of the file. The default is %prefix%_round%round%.txt which would keep overwriting the same 30 or so files, but your pattern is different and includes timestamps which results in infinite backups. You can stop the backups altogether by setting mp_backup_round_file to "" Cheers.
