Are you installing it as root? Try to install as root and test. I would not
recommend running it as root forever, this is just for testing. If the folder
you created does not have write permissions that can cause this issue also.

Ok so I ended up disabling the firewall whilst logging in to get it working but
now getting this issue where it's throwing a 0x602 error state, anybody got any
ideas?

I've scoured all the steam forums and tried lots of various things but i'm
fairly newbie to SSH so might be doing something completely wrong.
