Hello , I am currently migrating (due to cheaper traffic) to another
host , offering me a cloud with 2 cpus of these specs:
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 6
model : 42
model name : Intel Xeon E312xx (Sandy Bridge)
stepping : 1
microcode : 0x1
cpu MHz : 2199.996
cache size : 4096 KB
Is this capable of hosting csgo server without lag? I am currently
testing it with 24 bots, 128 tick , ful rates at de_dust2 and
sometimes I see red line at sv and var. Are bots real indicator of
testing the server at cpu or the usage I see is overestimated because
of bots?
This is a slow processor and I would not recommend running a modern game
server on that type.
With a "cloud" provider, also keep in mind that when you reboot (and
possibly at other times), you might be put onto a different node that is
faster or slower than your current one. This can make it difficult to
predict performance. It would be a good idea to contact your host and
ask them for more information on whether they have better hardware
available and if you can be locked to only using a specific node type.
You should also confirm with them that you have dedicated resources (not
"burstable" RAM and at least some guaranteed amount of CPU power).
