Fellows are drawn from many disciplines that reflect the diversity of TED's members: technology, entertainment, design, the sciences, the humanities, the arts, business and more. Each year, TED Fellows program organizers choose 50 individuals who demonstrate world-changing potential to join either the TED or TEDGlobal Conferences, approximately 25 Fellows for each event. At the end of the year, organizers select 20 of these Fellows to participate in an extended three-year Senior Fellowship, bringing them to six consecutive conferences. TED Fellows receive conference admission, round-trip transportation and room and board at the conference site. Fellows also participate in a two-day pre-conference where they can present a short talk or video which will be considered for TED.com. Other benefits include elite skills-building courses taught by world experts, social opportunities and surprise extras.
