but .fl { ... margin: 50px 0 -100px 0; ... } doesn't have any effect,
and .fl { ... margin: 50px 0 0 0; position:relative; bottom:-100px;... } or .fl { ... margin: -25px 0 0 0;... } makes me feel sad about my new toy.
Don't feel sad :-) Opera8 is breaking a large number of sites around the web, and only some of it can be corrected if we are to avoid breaking it in all other browsers.
Opera8 is expanding to contain just about everything, whether we like it or not. That thing has become really aggressive...
Let's have some fun while we are waiting for an update. My test-cases are not as elegant as Bruno's, but they sure provokes Opera8:

...had a margin-bottom bug in there, but it got eaten by some other margin-bottom bugs. Browser-bugs sure lives tough lives.
