Thank you Bruno. The need for a nesting of the bug appearance and the fix by position relative /or haslayout the grandparent does remind me on the disappearing list background bug, and the inconsistent repainting you reported would match, but here is a float and a line-height needed too in addition.

I think it's something new. Miraculous are the ways. Cindi's fix by removing the background didn't fix it on my testcase.
